The latest products from World Centric, a specialist in compostable products for the foodservice industry, are hot cups and bowls made from 100 percent sugarcane bagasse, which composts within two to four months.

Dubbed NoTree, the line is an environmentally-friendly alternative to wood paper, Styrofoam and petroleum-based plastic cups and bowls, according to Petaluma, California-based World Centric. Sugarcane bagasse is the fiber that remains after sugarcane is extracted.

“We are thrilled to unveil World Centric’s new NoTree hot cup and bowl collection and further help our trade customers make the shift to compostable products,” says Mark Stephany, World Centric’s senior vice president of sales. “The collection is groundbreaking for the foodservice industry and continues our commitment to creating great products that contribute to reducing environmental footprint of single use disposables and help us fund our impact programs.”

NoTree cups are available in 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16 and 20 oz sizes and bowls in 8, 24 and 32 oz sizes.
