Hummus specialist Tribe’s products now have no artificial preservatives.

Tribe relaunched its entire hummus line to highlight its commitment to clean label practices. Research showing that consumers consider the removal of potassium sorbate and other artificial preservatives to be a top concern when buying hummus influenced Tribe’s decision.

“Tribe is now one of the only national hummus brands that does not contain artificial preservatives,” says John McGuckin, the company’s CEO. “We believe that our clean label and subsequent brand refresh meets our customers’ expectations in providing the kind of solutions today’s well-informed consumers are seeking.”

Tribe was able to remove artificial preservatives from its hummus through advances in batch pasteurization technologies, McGuckin says. The change comes a year after Tribe switched to non-GMO canola oil.

The relaunched line features new packaging which highlights Tribe’s commitment to clean label. Tribe Hummus is available in nearly 20 varieties.
