Wisconsin-based convenience store chain Kwik Trip will invest $300 million in projects highlighted by a new bread and bun production facility.

La Crosse, Wisconsin-based Kwik Trip, which owns and operates 621 stores in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa, expects the projects to create 300 jobs, according to a story in the Wisconsin State Journal. The biggest project will be the construction of a $113 million, 200,000-square-foot bread and bun facility in La Crosse, according to the story.

Other projects include improvements to Kwik Trip’s kitchen operations, dairy manufacturing facility and transportation fleet, according to the story. The upgrades will create higher capacity, productivity and cost savings, John McHugh, Kwik Trip’s director of corporate communications and leadership development, said in the story.

The projects will enable the company to open 40 to 50 new stores per year, according to the story.

Kwik Trip operates its own bakery kitchen and other kitchens, according to the company’s website.
