The Stop & Shop Supermarket Company LLC is now offering customers an exciting, varied assortment from four well-known food brands at the Somerville (Massachusetts) Stop & Shop. Customers will have a place to sit and eat in or can order food to go from favorite local food stations: Carol Ann’s Bake Shop, Fisherman’s Net, Salsa’s and The Sausage Guy.

“This is a great opportunity to offer our customers a better shopping experience through a broader selection of restaurant quality foods prepared for our customers on the spot,” says Joe Kelley, president of Stop & Shop’s New England Division. “We’ve been local for 100 years and are excited to partner with other local brands that customers know and love.”

The restaurant area is located near the front of the store and is open seven days a week. All four restaurants will offer a variety of specialties:

Carol Ann Bake Shop, with a storefront at Faneuil Hall in Boston, will offer fresh pastries.

The Sausage Guy, a well-known Fenway Park vendor, features sandwiches of sausage, peppers and onions.

Fisherman’s Net, with a storefront at Faneuil Hall in Boston, will sell fried seafood, fresh cut fries, and chowder.

Salsa’s, located in South Boston and Hingham, will offer favorite Mexican dishes.

Stop & Shop operates 394 stores throughout Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York and New Jersey. The chain recently completed a major remodel of its store located in Woodbury, NY. The store underwent a three-month remodel to provide customers with an expanded product selection and special features for a more convenient shopping experience.

“With this remodel, our customers will find the everyday savings and value they expect from Stop & Shop along with more selection,” says Sue Sweeney, store manager. Woodbury customers will find key departments such as full-service deli, meat and seafood which have been freshened with new décor and fixtures along with an increased variety of product. Key areas such as grocery, dairy, bakery, frozen foods and floral have been expanded.

There’s a wider assortment of Kosher brand products to meet the needs of the local community. The Nature’s Promise area dedicated to natural and organic products increased by 20 percent and the produce area increased by 30 percent in the remodeled store.

New to the Woodbury store is SCAN IT! technology where a hand held scanner will help Stop & Shop customers simplify their shopping experience by allowing them to scan and bag groceries while they shop.

Deli Vision is another new technology tool for making deli shopping easier and faster at the Woodbury store. Customers select what they want, get a printout of their choices and cost and then pick up their order at the deli when they’re ready to go.
